Annie Schrank, Author

Annie Schrank worked for thirty-five years as a clothing designer in Los Angeles and living in Malibu, California. Throughout this time, she wrote occasional free-lance magazine articles and supplied accompanying photographs, allowing her curiosity to take her from subjects as diverse as explorer interviews to the art of baby massage, and adventure travel all over the world. Currently she lives in Celebration, Florida and works as a costume photographer and digital archivist for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

A Longing for Africa: Stories Inspired by the life of Jane Goodall, written over five years, is an accumulation of memories from her early twenties, as told first as stories to friends to pass the time while walking in the balmy Florida evenings, and being told, again and again, “You’ve got to write this down. This has to be a book!”

“With a title like this, of course, I was compelled to read this beautifully written book! A fascinating and adventurous life, spiced with danger, and with a love story thrown in. You can’t go wrong.”
